Amazon has delayed the plan to integrate the purchase of comixology and the platform itself into a wider ecosystem. In the company FAQ posted this week, he said the updated comixology application, which is scheduled to bring a number of changes to how the service works, will arrive at the beginning of 2022, not 2021 which was announced earlier.
“We want to take a little extra time to combine the feedback we receive from our community,” said the company in the document. “With this goal, we decided to hold launch until the beginning of next year.”
According to Amazon, the new Comixology application includes an increase in filtering and sorting. It also promises faster and more reliable downloads. The catch is you will need an Amazon account to use the application at all. What’s more, once the company launches updated software, the current comixology application will not function to follow the grace period.
However, the biggest change application is set to introduce has lived this week. You no longer need a comixology application to read the purchase you make through the platform. Instead, they are also available through the Kindle application. All of it points into the future where comixology may not exist in the next few years.
