TCL TAB Pro 5G Review

TCL TAB Pro 5G Review

At the end of October, Verizon announced TCL Tab Pro 5G, Android tablets that support the 5G operator network. Tablets, as expected since the initial announcement, are based on a compromise: this provides 5G consumer support at a relatively low price, but hits that reduce the price point by cutting several features which ultimately makes the tablet less attractive to consumers.

Verizon 5g on the tablet

There is no shortage of Android tablets on the market, but the new TCL Pro 5G tab is less rare because it includes support for the 5G Nationwide 5G network and Ultra Wide-Band Verizon. The tablet managed to offer 5G access at prices most of the consumers would feel comfortable.

The Pro 5G tab has a full retail price of $ 399.99 USD, although many consumers tend to get a tablet under the Verizon device payment plan. Those who choose the last option will pay $ 16.66 / month for 24 months or $ 13.33 / month for 30 months above their monthly wireless service bill.

What makes it special?

Many tablet features are quite standard, including 64GB storage and 4GB RAM, Snapdragon 480 5G Qualcomm chipset with octa-core processor, microSD card slot with support to 1TB card, dual-band 802.11 a / b / g / n / AC WiFi, and Bluetooth 5.0. However, TCL released its products with several more famous features.

TCL packaged full + full + 10.36 inch screen with NXTVision on the Pro 5G tab, offering the quality of “HDR-likes”, according to the manufacturer. Slate has a decent 60Hz refresh rate and 5: 3 aspect ratio. The screen is very bright, unlike many lower class tablets, plus the colors are very saturated, offering a pleasant experience when streaming Netflix or watching YouTube videos before going to bed.

This tablet is very light on one pound, but still managed to pack a 8,000 mAh battery that includes refilling through USB-C, effectively allowing tablets to function as a power bank for charging earbuds or other gadgets when far from the source of convenient charging.

The battery can be fully charged in less than four hours when a quick 18 watt charger is used. Assuming the tablet is not used as a power bank and battery saver mode is turned on, the user can expect up to about 17 hours of runtime before the tablet needs to be plugged. The battery life in substantial standby mode is around 25 days at a full cost.

The extensive standby time makes tablets very useful for travelers who can store their tablets for a long time during flights and meetings, help ensure the battery will not be too low when the slate is needed. The ability to use tablets as a power bank is also extra useful for travelers, allowing them, for example, keeping their cellphones running at the airport when all outlets are being used.

Other important features include fingerprint sensors baked into the power button, allowing to turn on and authenticate devices simultaneously. The model also packs the face unlocks to unlock the tablet by looking at the display. Beyond that, Verizon customers can also use the Pro 5G tab to share their ultra-fast broadband connections through hotspots with up to 10 devices.

Camera.

Although most people will take pictures and record videos with their smartphones – the majority have a camera that is much better than those offered by tablets – this blackboard is useful for video calls. TCL acknowledges that by packing the camera facing an 8 megapixel forward into the Pro 5G tab, as well as a 13 megapixel rear camera.
