If you haven’t heard now, the Xbox brand is 20 years old. With Livestreams birthday, controller, and even a halo surprise without the release of multiplayer, we are not sure how you can miss the news, but it’s not here or there. Birthday equipment has not stopped rolling, because Microsoft has launched a new virtual museum that took us through the history of Xbox.
From the concept of the 1990s to date
Initially blush, the virtual museum celebrates 20 years of Xbox may sound a little indulgent, but it’s worth a visit to the Xbox fans out there. The browser-based museum starts you right at the beginning of the Xbox history, when the Microsoft DirectX team starts developing Xbox as a competitor to the upcoming Playstation 2.
From there, we were taken through many important events in the history of Xbox, seeing the development and revealing the first console and the next launch of other consoles consisting of the Xbox family. It is not only the release of the console that the museum includes, because of large events such as the Kinect launch and Microsoft acquisition mojang included in the museum. We also saw some stumbling in the history of Xbox, with a museum which includes the problem of “Red Death Death” Xbox 360 too.
Visitors to the museum can use avatars to run through digital tracks that take them through the history of each console. There is also a separate museum for the largest Xbox franchise, Hello, which shows all the main events in the franchise with the history of Xbox. You might want to set aside time during the upcoming holiday weekend to explore the museum, like seeing every exhibition and watching every video will take a long time.
Short note: We have tried visiting the Xbox Museum in Chrome and Edge, and at least for us, the museum runs far more smoothly on the edge. Maybe it’s not a coincidence, but, in any case, if you have an edge installed on your machine, you might want to start using that browser.
The biggest exhibition is you
While traveling along the cool Xbox Memory Lane, the virtual museum also lats the Xbox history of the visiting players. Enter your Microsoft account will show you statistics in your years with the Xbox, dating back to the original Xbox (assuming you actually connect the LAN cable to it and enter the initial Xbox Live iteration).
For example, even though I have the original Xbox back on that day, I never connected it to the internet, so as far as Microsoft, my first Xbox console is the Xbox 360. Microsoft’s first Xbox game has a record I play is Halo 3, and my first registration to Xbox Live is on October 2, 2007.
These statistics are running very deeply, showing you the first time you enter every Xbox console throughout the year, the first game you play in each of the consoles, and even the first time you play the Xbox game that you are most (for me, that date is September 25, 2010 and the game in question is Halo: REACH).
The Virtual Xbox Museum is a very interesting trip, and it is something that must be checked by all Xbox users, if for no other reason besides seeing their history with the console.
