The webb space telescope which was delayed from NASA had experienced a setback again. Although recently scheduled to be appointed on December 18, now it will not be launched until the first December 22. The delay was caused by an incident that occurred while the technician prepared to attach a telescope to Ariane 5 rockets that would teach it into space.
“The sudden and unplanned clamp ribbon release – which secured Webb to the launch vehicle adapter – caused vibration throughout the observatory,” according to NASA. Now do additional testing to make sure the telescope is not damaged during the incident. NASA said it would give updates about the situation at the end of the week.
Substitute for the Hubble Space Telescope has been disturbed by delays. When the development began in 1996, NASA hoped to use JWST in 2007. However, in 2005, returned to the drawing board. The telescope was then considered complete in 2016 but was then postponed because of its complex constructibility. It was only fully assembled in 2019 and then the pandemic caused another round of setback. Given the history of JWST, you can understand why NASA wants to play safely.
