LG WebOS Smart TVs will soon have an NVIDIA GeForce NOW app

LG clearly died to expand the Kingdom of smart TV, not only in terms of hardware but also software. In addition to adding new applications and services to smart TVs, such as Apple TV + and support for AirPlay 2, LG also began to license the WebOS platform to other smart TV manufacturers. Most of these new features have spin around “passive” entertainment, but this latest feature steps on the realm of interactive content, with the upcoming arrival of Nvidia’s GeForce now streaming games to choose LG Smart TV.

There are two or three main streaming platforms today, but Nvidia actually plays with the possibility of being long before Google reveals to take it alone with the Stadia. GeForce is now out of beta a little later, but also has one of the largest number of supported devices to run. Besides cellular, computers, and consoles, GeForce now also comes to smart TV, at least running the LG web.

Select 2021 LG 4K OLED models, QNED Mini LEDs, and Nanocell TV in 80 markets will soon be able to test the beta version of the upcoming GeForce Now application. Of course, availability still depends on whether this service is actually available in certain countries, but US owners do not need to worry about it at all. They also don’t need to worry about the ability of their TV hardware because the entire streaming point of the game is to collect heavy processing to remote computers.

The remote computers happen to use the NVIDIA RTX graphics card to flow 1080p games that run at 60 fps, complete with tracing ray effects. That said, this particular feature requires a paid subscription.

LG naturally promotes its TV features, such as black people in the OLED set and quickly 1 MS response time to combat the input lag. Will be curious to see how the image quality will end because they have to be upgraded to 2K TV and 4K. LG also does not say if this application will be exclusive for smart TV LG or if it will eventually find its way to third-party WebOS sets.
