You wait for one SUV all three-line electricity, and through the two at the same time. Well, at least two concepts, with Kia and Hyundai bring their vision about seven sitting with electricity to the La Auto Show 2021 this week. For two South Korean car makers, this is an opportunity to showcase how E-GMP architecture with them can be applied, but also proved to be an unexpected competition of Pitting Glitz against relative restraces.
“Restrangement” is not a common theme on the Auto Show, where car concepts usually free designers and engineers from the constraints of reality of production, safety regulations, and the like. In recent years we have seen an uptick of almost ready-production cars disguised as a concept that is barely disguised, right, but the recipe is usually one of the jaws that dropped first and then dropped in explaining practicality.
You cannot question Hyundai’s ambitions. The concept of Hyundai seven – is expected to be massaged into the production of IONIIQ 7 SUVs of three lines in the future that is not too far away – not on duty on the theme of a general show car. As well as hinged back doors, allowing an easy entry promise and the comfort of exposing the interior to vibrant auto people showing the crowds, the cabin itself is more a lounge than what you expect from the SUV.
The stylish individual arm they will not look inside in place in an Instagram Inspiration Furniture account, a large display installed on the ceiling for radiant media or shows animated screensavers, and of course atypical controls all appear. The joystick that can be withdrawn can override autonomous driving seven concepts, but really, Hyundai clearly expects EV occupants to relax or take a nap than considering the road.
Cabin EV9 Kia, on the contrary, a little more to earth. Of course, you still get a hinged door, but the interior they reveal has a chair that can be recognized as a chair that you might find in the car; The steering wheel – even though the angle – still looks like a steering wheel; And the general feeling that this is all much closer to production production than anything that Hyundai shows.
Although it’s simpler than Hyundai Seven, it also attracts attention to some more promising EV9 details. One of the interesting challenges of the current car makers is trying to translate the hope of luxury in the material, in a way that meets the demand for environmentally friendly and animal friendly ways. Less skin, fewer wood, and more recycled content such as technical cloth.
Kia uses that opportunity to experiment with some neat features refreshing in their practicality. Hvac-sensitive touch controls that shine through the dashboard wrapped in fabric not only looks great, but they feel not too far from something that can actually use Kia in production vehicles. The same applies to integrated storage, and the way chairs are installed that emphasize the benefits of EV flat floors.
EV9 The production we hope will not have a luxurious door, and Kia might give up on a better known button for things like Windows Power. Even so, the exterior is partly different for how close it is for the current car maker design language for models such as EV6. Divert extensive wheels and add more realistic lights, and it’s not too difficult to see how this three-line SUV can be tamed, just a little, for real roads.
