There is a point in time when it seems that the notch will be the future of a smartphone, especially because Apple seems to insist on sticking out since the iPhone X in 2017. And then the device maker starts switching to the hole-hole cutouts, and some even start hiding the front camera below the screen. However, it seems, the trend of notch will arrive on the big screen, like Apple’s new MacBook Pro, and Samsung might try to make it on a tablet with the S8 Ultra Galaxy Tab.
Notch on the MacBook Pro was one of the most surprising things to be disclosed at the Apple Mac-Centric event last month. The company positions it as a “smart” way to increase real estate screen by having a menu bar at the same level. Unfortunately, this proved to be more problematic compared to the smartphone implementation because some menus some MacOS applications ended below the notch, making it almost inaccessible.
Fortunately, it won’t happen with Android because, like on iOS, the top lines are dedicated to the notification panel. Some full screen applications may have problems, but there is always a way to get around it. While real estate screens may be one of the benefits of having a notch, it might not be the main reason for Samsung using it on a tablet.
According to @ice universe, the Galaxy S8 Ultra Notch will accommodate not one but two cameras can shoot 4K 60 fps. One of them will be an ultra-wide corner camera that might be positioned as a better display for video chat and conference. Tipster also ensure that the notch is not as big as it, maybe enough to contain two cameras.
Instead, the MacBook Pro Notch accommodates your typical webcam array and does not have an array of sensors that will activate the face ID. Apple seems to have not been interested in implementing it, leaving Samsung with the opportunity to lift it, despite the accuracy and performance of his face recognition technology not all, to start.
